Great Review from Ultimate App Reviews

My favorite feature of this application is that it allows you to take a photo of your goal. You can simply take a snap-shot of the goal you have in mind and use this to both remind you and encourage you to stick with your plan in order that you may meet your financial goals. In addition to this, the application includes a number of features that only add to its usefulness. You will find a host of icons that you can use to organize categories. You can add notes, create reminders, enter different expense frequencies and view your totals by category or as an overall expenditure. That really is the tip of the iceberg. There is so much flexibility with the application that you can design it to your specific preference thereby making it much easier for you have success reaching your financial goals. This application’s value is worth far more than its low asking price. There is no doubt it will be one of the most useful applications that you have available in your library. This application will work with Apple products including the iPhone, iTouch and iPad.

Great Review of Back in Black

Posted by Tom Dodd — April 3rd, 2012

David Harfield, the reviewer in London for iPhoneappcafe was thrilled with our Back in Black finance app. Check out: http://iphoneappcafe.com/back-in-black-the-ultimate-financial-management-app-sponsored/

What I really like about the app is the fact that it is totally intuitive to the level of detail that you want to go into; if you simply want to manage your monthly wage, pay the bills and do the grocery shopping, then its simple and easy to use format allows for this. However, if you want to go into more financial intricacies, such as planning to pay off a mortgage, saving up to buy a car or tracking where your expenditure goes, Back In Black can help you do this. For example, the ‘setting goals feature’ actually allows you to add a picture of your goal from your phone so that you have a visual incentive to work towards. There are set reminders as to when you have to pay off certain bills and there are 140 categories to allocate your spending to, such as clothing, restaurants and entertainment (a lot of mine went into restaurants; oh well, who needs clothes? If I eat enough they won’t fit me anyway…).

Check out the review in the iPhoneappcafe blog. We faltered when we developed a bug in February, but now the app is climbing back. This app is just so easy to understand right from the beginning. Here's what another reviewer said about it:

Benefits of Handheld Exposure

Why Go Mobile?

Posted by Tom Dodd — January 12th, 2012

Our usual response is: Will an app actually help you to make money or save you money?  In other words, the creation of a mobile app has to make good business sense.

Plenty of large corporations have jumped on the mobile app bandwagon and are not overly thrilled with the results. Most of them started with the premise that they need to get out there, to be seen, techno savvy, cool. But their apps have mostly languish in the vast sea of app-aritions (There are 500,000 apps in the iTunes Store and climbing. Most of them are not being used. They might get downloaded but are soon removed because users see no reason to keep them active. )

The bottom line for any corporation is to increase exposure of their brand or to provide a tool that will improve sales or efficiencies. The former helps to increase awareness and drive sales. The latter either helps consumers/clients buy or use a service wherever they happen to be at a particular time, or to make shopping easier or more cost effective. If the app doesn’t achieve either of these things successfully, we suggest either re-thinking the concept or trying other, less expensive marketing approaches.

But the buzz out there suggests that businesses need to become mobile-active or they will be missing out on a huge potential. Researchers are estimating that mobile marketing could reach $57 billion in North America by 2014. The spectacular growth in the purchase of smartphones certainly supports this projection. So do the stats on usage provided by Google in their Mobile Movement Study (April 2011)

  • 31% of Americans own a smartphone (of 309 million)
  • 89% of smartphone users use their phones throughout the day
  • 90% of searchers have taken action because of a smartphone search
  • 79% use smartphones for shopping related activities
  • 70% use smartphones while shopping in a store
  • Smartphones are an integral part of a multi-channel purchase process
  • And so on.

As Mark Ryski, the owner of Headcount, a highly successful analytic company that provides data on store traffic and conversion rates said, “ Companies today cannot not afford to be in the mobile space.”
